Only a text transcript. Finding every item in a walkthrough, describing it and pricing it takes a far larger AI model than any phone can run today. So your iPhone sends just the text, over an encrypted connection, to WHIG’s reading service, which passes it to Anthropic’s Claude. The result comes straight back to your phone. Your country, the recording length and any space name you chose go with it. WHIG stores neither the words nor the result, and WHIG does not send account identifiers to Anthropic, but anything personal you say is included in the transcript. The app asks before your first walkthrough is read, and you can withdraw that in Profile, Privacy.

A web inventory: a read-only HTML file you open in a browser to search items, view photos and print, even offline; an Evidence record PDF; a Protection priorities PDF; a CSV spreadsheet; a photo and evidence index; and portable JSON data. The full ZIP includes photos and restore data for a new phone. Extract the ZIP and keep its files together to use the web inventory. Print selected entries from the viewer, or use the PDF for a compact report. For recorded walkthroughs, the package includes a Certificate of integrity covering the original records, not later edits, ownership or the accuracy of values.

About twenty minutes is a guide for a typical first walkthrough, not a processing-time guarantee. Larger spaces and detailed collections take longer. You can record one space at a time, then review the result at your own pace.

No. Describe what you own and mention brands or models when you know them. WHIG provides replacement cost estimates, clearly labelled as estimates, not professional valuations.

WHIG helps you keep an organised record with photos, descriptions and supporting documents. It does not verify ownership or guarantee insurer acceptance or an insurance claim outcome. Values are estimates, not professional valuations. For recorded walkthroughs, the Certificate of integrity identifies the original records it covers and their verification status. It does not cover later edits or certify ownership, filming date or valuation accuracy.

No. Your video and audio are recorded on your iPhone and are never uploaded. Your iPhone turns what you say into text using Apple’s on-device speech recognition. Item photos are taken from your own video on the phone. You choose whether to keep a copy of your video in Photos or Files on your iPhone.

Anthropic processes the text under its commercial API terms. By default it does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models, and it deletes them within 30 days, except where it must keep them longer for legal or safety reasons.

No. Item names, brands, individual values, transcripts, photos and video never go into our database. WHIG holds service details only: your account and contact details, country and property profile, consent choices, recording status, purchase records and anonymised regional totals.

Save your Evidence Package somewhere other than your phone. It holds every document, and a full copy of your inventory that restores WHIG on a new phone. You can also share the PDF, CSV and JSON documents yourself. Exports contain your information, so only send them to people and places you choose. WHIG cannot revoke a copy after you share it.

When you save a walkthrough, your iPhone computes a cryptographic fingerprint of its original record. Only that fingerprint is sent for an independent timestamp through public OpenTimestamps calendars. Once confirmed in the Bitcoin blockchain, it shows the record existed by that block’s time. Your Certificate of integrity shows the status, including pending timestamps, and anyone can check the proof at whig.app/verify. It does not show when you filmed, what you own or what it is worth, and later edits are not covered.

Once its independent timestamp is confirmed, the certificate lets a recipient check that your original record existed by that time and has not changed. A digital fingerprint of the original inventory and walkthrough photos is anchored through OpenTimestamps to the Bitcoin blockchain. Anyone can compare those originals with that fingerprint, even without WHIG. Pending timestamps do not yet establish that independent date. The certificate identifies the original records it covers and their verification status. It does not certify later edits, ownership, filming date or valuation accuracy. Entries added entirely by hand have no walkthrough to certify.

No. Record the spaces and belongings you want to document, whether that is a home, a workshop, a storage space or a collection. Name each space as you go and keep building your inventory over time.

No. Buy the Evidence Package once, then create and save updated packages whenever your inventory changes, at no extra charge. The purchase covers all spaces on your account, including ones you add later. There is no subscription or fee for each new package.

The files are yours. You can edit a CSV or annotate a PDF with your own software. The web inventory (HTML) is read-only, and external changes do not sync back to WHIG. We recommend making updates in WHIG and exporting again so the inventory, photos and documents stay linked. Your Certificate of integrity continues to cover the original records it identifies; it does not certify later edits. Buy once, then create an updated package whenever your inventory changes, at no extra charge. This includes spaces you add later on your account.

Yes. Recording and reviewing your inventory in WHIG are free. Saving, exporting, sharing, printing or transferring it outside the app requires the Evidence Package. The saved package is also your inventory backup. There is no separate free backup.
