What WHIG is

WHIG (“What Have I Got”) is a home contents documentation tool. It processes video walkthroughs of your home and produces a structured inventory with estimated replacement values, video frame evidence, and formal documentation.

WHIG does the following:

What WHIG is not

WHIG is not an insurance product and does not constitute insurance guidance. WHIG does not:

You should discuss your inventory and coverage with a qualified professional.

Estimates and accuracy

All values produced by WHIG are estimates based on publicly available pricing data, current retail replacement averages, and statistical models. They may not reflect the actual replacement cost of your items.

Every estimate is clearly marked:

Specialist items (fine jewellery, original art, antiques, musical instruments, wine and spirits collections) are never valued by WHIG. They are flagged for professional valuation and included in your Protection Priority List with recommended next steps.

The Evidence Package

The WHIG Evidence Package is a one-time purchase of $38 AUD per walkthrough. Recording and processing are free. The Evidence Package includes:

The Evidence Package is delivered to your chosen storage destination (Google Drive, iCloud, your device, or S3-compatible storage). All purchases are final.

Evidence integrity

Evidence tiers

Items in your record are classified by strength of evidence:

Certificate of Integrity

Every Evidence Package includes a Certificate of Integrity listing all cryptographic hashes and digital signature references from your sealed record. This certificate allows independent verification that your documents are genuine and unaltered, without requiring WHIG.

Statutory declaration

Before your Evidence Record is generated, you are asked to make a statutory declaration confirming the information in your record is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge. This declaration is signed with Face ID or biometric authentication and its timestamp is recorded immutably. Making a false statutory declaration is a criminal offence.

Your data

You own your data. Your encrypted inventory is delivered to your chosen storage destination and is not retained by WHIG. Video and audio files are deleted from our servers after processing, typically within one hour. A hard-limit lifecycle policy ensures deletion within 24 hours regardless.

See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling, encryption, deletion timelines, anonymised data contribution, and your rights.

Self-declared information

All information in your record is self-declared by you. WHIG does not verify ownership or authenticate items. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provided. Any party you share your record with may require additional documentation beyond what WHIG produces.

Limitation of liability

WHIG is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that estimates reflect actual replacement cost, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that any third party will accept WHIG documentation for any particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WHIG’s liability for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for the Evidence Package giving rise to the claim.

Video processing depends on third-party services (cloud infrastructure, AI models) which may occasionally be unavailable. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee it.

Sharing with third parties

You may generate a time-limited, read-only share link for your broker, solicitor, or anyone you choose. Share links expire after 30 days and can be revoked at any time. You control exactly what the recipient sees.

The shared package includes your working copy (which may include improvements made after the original recording) and your Certificate of Integrity (which proves the original session was genuine). A note is included: “Working copy may include additions made after the original recording session.”

Device identifiers are stored in your sealed record but excluded from share packages, as they are personally identifiable. Access to device identifiers is available only through legal process.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of WHIG after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
